Belize
little frenchman Caye (private island)
This secluded private island was AMAZING. We booked this excursion through Shore Excursioneer. ‘Little Frenchman Caye’ also known as ‘Royal Palm Island’. Boat ride, food, 2 alcohol drinks, kayaks….. all included. Absolutely GORGEOUS beach and place. There was only 16 of us on this island, plus a few (non-cruise) vacationers staying there for a few days, and a few staff members (chef, bartender, coordinator, etc). It was absolutely worth it for us, especially with the group rate. Those few non-cruise vacationers staying there were dropping about $400-500/night to stay there (crazy). We did not want to leave… So beautiful, secluded, peaceful. Without a doubt, our FAVORITE place in Belize.
Goff's Caye
Goff’s Caye is our “go-to” place in Belize (been there several times), and we always book through same site. Never an issue with them. Fairly inexpensive and a good time. Â Â Goff’s Caye is a tiny island off the shore of Belize City (about a 30 min water taxi ride there), sits right on the edge of the Belize Barrier Reef, with shallow waters to the south and east being only 0.6 to 3 meters deep, making it ideal for kids. Food is available for purchase (~$10-12/plate), and a nice guided snorkeling tour (no additional charge). Saw plenty of fish.
starfish island
This was our one and only time so far we went on a Cruiseline sponsored excursion! lol. The reason we decided to give this a try on one of our visits to Belize is because they take you directly from the ship to Starfish Island, bypassing (without) the need take the standard tender to Belize city, and then another water taxi. Same for the return from Starfish island (directly to the ship). Food was included. There is a place where you can touch/hold starfish, beach area, a swing, and water trampoline/structures. Played some beach volleyball as well with some other cruisers and locals (our guides). The water there wasn’t at prestine as Little Frenchman Caye or even Goff’s Caye. We still had a good time overall.
ATV, ZIPLINING, CAVE TUBING
Cruising with a friend, we did the “ATV, Ziplining and Cave Tubing” excursion. It’s about a 7 hour excursion, which includes ~1 hour bus ride each way to there and back. The excursion was great and very well run. Food included. Due to how long this excursion is & how far it is from the ship, I highly recommend doing this excursion only with the ship, especially if it’s cutting it close with the back-on-board time.
HARVEST CAYE, BELIZE
This is NCL’s private island in Belize. A great day enjoying the pool, beach, and my daughter and I also did a manatee paddle board watch (yes we saw manatees!)
