We booked this excursion called “Soana Island Excursion” through Seavis Tours. It worked out perfectly with our Carnival stop there in La Romana. They provided details via email after booking with them, where to find the taxi’s to their meeting spot (visitor center) in Bayahibe. Then went on a speedboat to the Island of Soana. Name of the beach there is Catuano (nice beach), along with great snorkeling, and Dominican buffet lunch (included). Afterwards, back on the speedboat to ‘Piscina Natural’, a gorgeous shallow ‘natural swimming pool’. Plenty of starfish, enjoyed a few free drinks as well while in the water (they have on the speedboat). 

I was originally skeptical if this was worth the $90/p ($75 for tour + $15 for taxi transfers), but after doing this excursion, it definitely is worth it. My daughter till this day still asks “when are we going to do that excursion again that we go on that fun speedboat?” 🙂
