We booked direct in advance with a local trusted company called ‘Auto Progreso‘ for an excursion called ‘Dzibilchaltun Tour‘. Transportation (included in price) took about 30 mins to get there. We learned about the Mayan culture and the archaeological wonders of this site, followed by enjoying this large cenote called “Cenote de X’Lacah” after the tour finished. My wife still cracks up every time she hears me say “Dzibilchaltún!” 😀
progreso beach
On another cruise visit to Progreso, we decided to just chill by the local beach area. Once we docked, disembarked and walked through the port area, we took the free bus to town, and then walked along the beach. We inexpensive day. Camilla (our daughter) took a picture of us standing in the same spot we were 5 years prior. (We didn’t age that much did we?) 🙂
